BRITISH Speedway’s top-flight season in 2025 is set to kick off with a packed week of Knockout Cup action in late March.

Opening night for team competition is set for Monday March 24 with Birmingham hosting Leicester in a Midlands derby, Belle Vue facing Ipswich in Manchester and King’s Lynn taking on Oxford at the Adrian Flux Arena, with the second leg matches to take place on Thursday March 27.

The race for the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership play-offs gets underway on Monday March 31 with champions Belle Vue visiting King’s Lynn, who signed Ben Cook from the Aces over the winter.

Sheffield and Oxford are both also in home action in the first week of league racing, facing Birmingham and Ipswich respectively, whilst on Thursday April 10 Leicester host Belle Vue in a repeat of the 2024 Grand Final.
A key feature of the fixture list is an increase in the popular Bank Holiday double-headers.

Easter Monday (April 21) sees Belle Vue host Birmingham at midday with the return at Perry Barr in the evening, whilst at 1pm Oxford take on Leicester before the sides meet again at Beaumont Park at 7.30pm.

On Monday May 5 Belle Vue and Sheffield stage a Roses double at the NSS and Owlerton, and Oxford and Birmingham also meet home and away, whilst the East Anglian derby between Ipswich and King’s Lynn is set for 2.15pm.

The date for the British Final at Belle Vue has been confirmed as Monday May 12, where home favourite Dan Bewley will be looking to make it four titles in a row.

As announced following the BSP AGM, 2025 will see a return of the British Semi-Final, which will take place at Leicester on Thursday May 1 with full qualifying details to be published in the New Year.

The winner of the British Final, or the highest placed non-Grand Prix regular, will receive a Wild Card for the British Grand Prix at Cardiff on August 16. Details of the Wild Card for Manchester’s first Grand Prix on June 14 will be conveyed by the FIM in due course.

News on fixtures to be televised by our broadcast partners Eurosport/WBD, as well as the streaming schedule for BSN, will be available in the New Year.

Dates for three other big meetings in the early stages of the season have been confirmed, with Belle Vue set to kick off 2025 with their traditional Peter Craven Memorial event on Monday March 17.

Meanwhile, Leicester star Ryan Douglas celebrates his Testimonial meeting at Beaumont Park on Saturday March 22 (4pm), whilst the Ben Fund Bonanza will take place at Oxford on Sunday March 23 (6pm).
