The Workington Comets have announced the return of Claus Vissing to complete their 2024 team as they step back to Cab Direct Championship level.
The experienced Dane rode for the Comets at their former Derwent Park home in 2016, and was part of the title-winning Glasgow team side last season, although he missed the closing stages due to injury.
Promoter Andrew Bain said: “We got there in the end. We’re thrilled that Claus has signed, he’s a real talent on a bike and he never gives up.
“Not only can he ride the big tracks, he can ride the trickier ones like Edinburgh and Plymouth, which is key.
“We had to take our time to secure Claus as initially it seemed his schedule may not have worked out, but we got our man eventually and Claus sees the exciting things happening here at Workington.
“Claus, alongside Cookie [Craig Cook] and Batch [Troy Batchelor] adds a wealth of experience to our side. With a team that has four newcomers to Championship speedway in it, his experience will be vital this season.”
