2024 Championship League Riders’ Championship - Date, info, rider list and draw!

REDCAR captain Charles Wright will defend the Championship League Riders’ Championship title at the ECCO Arena on Sunday September 15 (3pm).

The date has been set for the prestige individual event, which is being staged at the Teesside venue for the second year running and features the top riders from all nine clubs in British Speedway’s middle tier.

Wright is set to face strong competition including from his Bears team-mate Danny King, who made the Final last season.

Former winners Sam Masters (Oxford) and Craig Cook (Workington) are included along with 2023 runner-up Chris Harris (Glasgow), who is yet to win an individual riders’ title.

Poole No.1 Richard Lawson is currently top of the league averages on an impressive 9.21 figure, just ahead of Masters and Cook, with Edinburgh’s Josh Pickering on 8.85.

The riding order draw will be made during BSN’s coverage of Poole v Scunthorpe in the Cab Direct Championship on Wednesday (August 7).

Admission prices for the CLRC have been set as follows: Adults £22, Children (11-16) £5, Under-11s Free.

The draw has now been made and Great Britain speedway legends Chris Harris and Scott Nicholls will clash in the opening race.

The draw for the major event at the ECCO Arena on Sunday September 15 (3pm) was made during Wednesday’s fixture between Poole and Scunthorpe.

And it threw up an immediate meeting between Harris and Nicholls in a mouthwatering Heat 1 which also features the league’s top averaged rider Richard Lawson and former Bears star Michael Palm Toft.

Defending champion Charles Wright has been drawn at No.6 and he will face fellow home racer Danny King in Heat 2.
