The Scunthorpe Scorpions have continued their team announcements with the unveiling of fifteen-year-old Ryan Ingram as their latest signing.
Ingram, who turns 16 in January, made his debut in the NDL and NDT with Plymouth and Leicester last season. He has been on the Scorpions’ radar for some time, and they are delighted to have secured him for the 2026 season.
Team manager David Howe said “Both Rob and myself were impressed with Ryan when he rode at Scunthorpe last season and I have been watching him improve all season at Leicester. We feel with the right help he can keep his rapid progress going and be a vital part of the team.”
The signing of Josh Pickering got a lot of people talking but it does take up a big chunk of the team average, something that Howe is very aware of, “Obviously signing Josh was a major coup for the club but it does mean we have to look at riders who will either improve or provide a solid base for the team. Ryan has scope to improve his average but just like Luke was two seasons ago, he will be given time and absolutely no pressure from myself, my job is to try and help him and guide him. He’s a good starter, which at any level helps, but the more a rider climbs the more it helps – and every time I’ve seen him hit the front, he is very fast. Ryan is also keen as mustard, he already wants to come to the track and practice and we are hoping that will happen this weekend. After last season, i want the team to be enthusiastic and upbeat and Ryan is certainly that.”
