Connor Coles is continuing his recovery after being involved in a serious accident during a meeting at Buxton Speedway on Sunday 19th April.
Following the incident, Coles received extensive medical attention at the track before being airlifted to UHNM Royal Stoke Hospital. He sustained a significant head injury, and medical teams placed him in an induced coma to ensure he received the best possible care during transfer.
There have since been small but encouraging signs of improvement, although the full extent of the injury is still not yet known.
A GoFundMe page has now been set up by Jess Sant to support Coles and his family during this difficult time, with the speedway community being urged to come together and offer support.
A statement from Buxton Speedway read:
“Connor sustained a significant head injury, and in order to provide him with the best possible care, medical teams administered pain relief and placed him in an induced coma prior to his transfer.
“Since then, he has begun to show small but encouraging signs of improvement; however, the full extent of his brain injury is not yet known.
“Everyone at Buxton Speedway send their heartfelt love, strength, and best wishes to Connor and his family during this incredibly difficult time.”
Supporters are being encouraged to contribute whatever they can, with all donations helping to ease financial pressures on the family and allow them to focus fully on Coles’ recovery.
Further updates are expected in due course.
