Antti Vuolas returns for the Workington Comets in 2025

Workington Speedway fans will be delighted at the news that our flying Finn Antti Vuolas will return to the Workington GT Tyres Comets in 2025.

Antti, who is a Workington asset, made his UK debut last season with GT Tyres Comets and enjoyed a successful debut season in 2024.

His form for the Comets secured him his first chance at top flight Premiership speedway with the Belle Vue Aces – helping them to win the Premiership league title along the way.

The 25-year-old from Finland, was crowned Mr. Entertainer of the Year at the End of Season Awards night a few weeks ago. It wasn’t difficult to see why either with some of his breathtaking rides from the back throughout 2024.

Antti signed in 2024 with the legacy of former Finnish Comets riders Kauko Nieminen and Tero Aarnio to name a few from season’s gone by to live up to – and he certainly did that.

Vuolas will rejoin his 2024 team-mate Tate Zischke and link-up with new recruit Vinnie Foord for the 2025 Championship season, creating an exciting early peak at the 2025 septet.

Workington Speedway Promoter Andrew Bain said:

“I’m sure many of our fans will be chuffed that Antti will be back next season. At one stage it may not have happened, but it did and we are delighted.”

“Antti established himself really well last year, but it was also a learning curve for him with every away track, a new track to learn and figure out. However, we seen that after a few rides at a new track he starts to figure things out and get going in the end.”

“That’s why we feel in 2025 he could almost be our trump card as these tracks won’t be new to him anymore and he can kick on away from home.”

Antti will return to Northside in 2025 with a starting average of 6.40.
