GLASGOW are delighted to announce an extensive partnership in the development of young British speedway riders.

Ashfield Stadium will become the host venue for all training schools, and there will also be two rounds of the British Youth Championship held in Glasgow in 2026.

Glasgow will also play an extended role in the progress of young British riders into professionals racing in the Cab Direct Championship.

Club director Peter Facenna said: “We are obviously passionate about British success in the sport.

“Our company Allied Mobility have been the principal sponsor of the Great Britain Speedway Team since 2018. It has been a fabulously successful era for GB since then with two Speedway of Nations gold wins, two silvers and another silver in the World Cup.

“It is a natural progression to further extend our involvement into the grass roots of the British Youth system.

“We are delighted to be able to make Ashfield Stadium the home of Great Britain for training schools and educating young riders.

“This will see the club host all training events plus the addition of two British Youth Championship rounds.

“We now have excellent facilities at the club, it’s available every day of the week and there’s also a training track for youngsters to start out from a very early age.

“We join Great Britain Youth boss Neil Vatcher with the same passion and determination to develop young riders into successful professional riders who can hopefully become World Champions of the future.”

Vatcher also welcomes the backing from Glasgow after overseeing so many young stars come through the ranks over the years including the likes of Robert Lambert, Dan Bewley and Tom Brennan.

He added: “It’s fantastic news for the development of British Youth in speedway.

“The backing is absolutely pivotal to the future success of the sport.

“The Facenna family have always given us outstanding support and for that to be extended is very important.

“We now have a training base at Ashfield Stadium with all the facilities we could wish for, including a small training track and workshops. It’s also available at all times.

“This is an exciting development for the British Youth set-up and we cannot wait to get going in 2026.”

The retained quartet have clearly impressed the management, with Brown—via the club website—praising their commitment and impact throughout 2025.

He said: “We were delighted to bring back Chris, Kyle, Leon and Freddy. They delivered so many awesome races in 2025, they give 100 per cent in every race for the Tigers fans.”

Harris, in particular, continues to lead from the front. “Chris was deservedly named Rider of the Year and continues to be the best captain and No1 in the league,” Brown said.

The team boss also believes that Howarth, Flint and Hodder all have further gears to find, stating: “Kyle had a sensational first season with us… Leon stepped it up big time last season… there’s definitely more levels for him and Freddy produced some epic rides.”

High-Profile New Additions

Brown is equally enthusiastic about the club’s incoming trio, all of whom arrive with impressive credentials.

On Hausl, he said: “It’s sensational that we can bring in Mario who won a gold medal for Germany in the Speedway of Nations 2 last year. He’s one of the hottest prospects in world speedway.”

Pedersen’s progress in Denmark has also caught the Tigers’ eye. “Kevin is a proven scorer on the continent picking up silver in the Danish Junior Championship for individual and team three years ago.”

As for Hagon, Brown noted his growing pedigree: “Sam is a great young rider. He has won the British Under-21 Championship for the past two years, both at Ashfield.”

Confident in the squad’s potential, Brown added: “This is a really great team and we think they will produce great racing for the fans. Bring on 2026!”
