The Workington Comets have given an update on their rider, Tate Zischke, who crashed out while making his Premiership debut for the Belle Vue Aces at the National Speedway Stadium last night.
It’s bad news for the young Australian and both his teams, with the rider reported to have suffered a number of broken vertebrae and ribs, which will end his season.

The full statement from Workington reads as follows:
“Further scans and tests on Tate has revealed that he has broken a number of vertebrae and ribs in last night’s crash.
“This now means that sadly his season is over but he is in good spirits, and on a road to recovery in which we are all sure he will come back even stronger 💪
“Speedy recovery Tate and we hope to see you soon 💙🤍”
