Exciting times ahead for Oxford Speedway!

OXFORD manager Peter Schroeck is relishing the chance to lead the club into an historic campaign – and is urging the local community to continue their remarkable response.

The Cowley outfit made a stunning return to racing in 2022 after a long battle to bring sport back to the stadium, and they will now compete at all three levels this year, including running a top-flight team for the first time since 2007.

Schroeck said: “It’s a hugely exciting time to be an Oxford Speedway fan. We’re on the cusp of the busiest campaign in the club’s history – and that’s all thanks to the outstanding support we’ve received from our fans.

“Speedway has often been criticised for standing still and not doing enough to engage new audiences. Our approach at Oxford Speedway is quite the opposite, and we’re committed to playing an active role in the community to build awareness, raise the sport’s profile and generate new fans.

“We’re doing everything within our resource to make the entire operation a success both on and off track. Now we’re calling on speedway enthusiasts across the county and its surrounds to join this special journey.”

The newly formed Oxford Spires team go into action for the first time next Thursday (March 14) when they host fellow Premiership newcomers Birmingham.
