The Scunthorpe Scorpions have confirmed their third team member for the new season, welcoming back popular rider Connor Mountain.
Mountain has established himself as a dependable and influential figure within the side, and team manager David Howe says he’s thrilled to see him return.
Speaking to the Scunthorpe Speedway website, Howe said:
“I spoke to Connor at the end of the season, and we were both in agreement about where we wanted the club to go. Like myself, he wanted a number one who could fight in the big heats, and when I said where we were looking, he was happy to be part of it.
“With the way we are building the team, I wanted someone solid and who I can depend on to strengthen the middle order, and Connor is perfect for that. Until the wheels came off the season, Connor, at times, was the shining star of the team, and with the right riders around him, I can see a big year for him. He has really made that number four jacket his own, and it’s so good as a manager to see him go out in heat 14, knowing there’s a good chance he will win it.
He also adds a lot of professionalism to the team, and I hope riders like Ryan can look up to him and learn how to approach their racing.”
Mountain’s return is expected to bring stability and strength to the middle order as Scunthorpe continue shaping their 2025 lineup.
