Birmingham Brummies ready to face off against Belle Vue Aces in Eurosport opener - Preview & Line ups

ROWE Motor Oil Premiership newcomers Birmingham face 2022 champions Belle Vue in the first live televised fixture of the campaign at Perry Barr tonight (Monday).

Eurosport and discovery+ launch their domestic coverage at Perry Barr with the Brummies seeking their first win since rejoining the top-flight, having gone close on opening night at home against Sheffield.

The Aces sit fourth in the table but only one point behind the three clubs above them, and an away win would therefore take them top.

Both sides are at full strength with Birmingham having lost 53-37 at Leicester on Thursday, whilst Belle Vue have won one of their three away matches so far.

Brummies captain Steve Worrall said: “It was good to get everybody in the pits together and I thought it was a good performance (at Leicester).

“We need to keep pushing and now we’ve finally got everyone together we’re a step closer to where we want to be.

“If we keep plugging away, we’ll get there, hopefully starting on Monday.”

Aces boss Mark Lemon said: “We have some fond memories of previous visits to Birmingham and we’re very excited to feature in the first televised Eurosport fixture of the season.

“The boys have had a successful few weeks and are in prime position in the league table as we look to finish our April meetings on a high.

“That said, Birmingham have some very impressive riders in their side, several with international and world championship experience, so we will be on our guard.”
