Edinburgh Stellar Monarchs Academy complete with Max Perry

Edinburgh Stellar Monarchs Academy have completed the 2024 team with the signing of young Brit Max Perry.

Max Perry has completed the move to Stellar Monarchs Academy for his third season at National Development League level. In this time he has been part of the successful Leicester Lion Cubs team but moves on for 2024.

Perry said, “I’m really looking forward and excited to be joining the team. Everything I hear and read about Edinburgh has always been positive and that the fans are very supportive towards their riders. It’s always good to experience a new club and new management.”

Aged 16 from Hungerford, Berkshire, Perry is excited to progress in 2024 and knows that gaining new experiences is important for this, “Edinburgh’s track is one I’m not used to but I know I will get the right guidance and support to master it. I would love to become more of a small track specialist.

“After not being asked to be back in the Cubs team, and with my average being slightly high, I honestly didn’t think I would be in the National Development League this season so when Edinburgh contacted me I was thrilled.

“It is going to be about an 800 mile round trip from where I live but I’m 100% committed and will do my very best to help the team get to the top of the table.”

Perry will complement his time with Stellar Monarchs Academy with a Championship team place with Poole Pirates as he seeks to turbocharge his development this season.

Stellar Monarchs Academy manager Scott Wilson is delighted to complete his 2024 line up, “I said when we signed Sam McGurk that we had secured one of the bright young talents in British speedway – well, now we have another!

“Max has taken big steps forward in each of the last two seasons and I believe he will do the same again this year.”

Perry has previously found Armadale challenging but Wilson has no concerns i n that area, “He won’t mind me saying he didn’t have the best of times when he guested for us at Armadale last season, but he is such a talented young rider that I have no doubts he’ll have Armadale sussed very quickly and be banging in big scores. Signing for us shows that Max believes that too.

“I’m very pleased with the team we have built. The boys and I can’t wait for the season to get started.”

The Stellar Monarchs Academy team is now complete and raring to go for the 2024 speedway season that gets underway this April at Armadale Stadium.
