Polish racer Oskar Fajfer is set for his first FIM Speedway Grand Prix rides for 10 years after being named as ISS FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Gorzow wild card.
The Stal Gorzow star dons the famous No.16 race jacket in his home event at Edward Jancarz Stadium on Saturday, June 29.
Fajfer previously made one SGP appearance at the 2014 FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Torun, taking two rides as a track reserve to replace the injured Michael Jepsen Jensen.
The 30-year-old was also a track reserve at the 2023 Gorzow event but did not take to the track. He will be guaranteed at least five rides against the sport’s biggest stars this time around.
As well as racing for Stal Gorzow in Poland’s PGE Ekstraliga, Fajfer competes for Bauhaus Elitserien club Piraterna in Sweden.
Fajfer is joined in the event by track reserves Jakub Miskowiak and Oskar Paluch. Former FIM Speedway Under-21 world champion Miskowiak joined Stal Gorzow from Czestochowa last winter and lines up at No.17. Meanwhile, Paluch, who turns 18 today, is the club’s latest star student from their academy and wears No.18.
The Gorzow weekend also features the year’s most epic night of youth action, the FIM SGP3 Final – Gorzow on Friday, June 28 as the sport’s top under-16 riders compete on 250cc machines for the FIM Speedway Youth World Championship.
The line-up for the SGP3 event will be confirmed following the two semi-finals, which take place at former FIM German Speedway GP venue Teterow on Saturday, June 22.
The Teterow event also features the FIM Women’s Speedway Academy and the first-ever FIM Women’s Speedway Gold Trophy
