"we need to pick up where we left off in 2026." Peter Kildemand on the Berwick Bandits

Returning Dane Peter Kildemand expects his revamped Berwick Bandits side to “pick up where it left off” when the 2026 Championship season gets underway.

The two-time GP winner returned to British racing for the first time in almost a decade last season, his unique style proving a perfect fit for the super-fast Borders’ circuit.

Berwick missed out on last year’s play-offs by just two points is expecting a strong season – home and away – from the revamped R.E.D Bandits, powered by STS.

Nick Morris and Jack Smith join the ultra-stylish Kildemand from the 2025 team along with new signings Victor Palovaara and Lasse Fredriksen and Jye Etheridge who will skipper the Bandits as he starts his second spell in Berwick colours.

Talking to Greg Blair on Berwick Speedway’s Total Access podcast, Kildemand said: “I think we have strong heat leaders but everyone in the seven can dig in and I expect us to be strong not just at home but on away tracks too.

“We ended last season very strongly but it was bitter sweet as we still missed the play-offs. But we need to pick up where we left off in 2026.”

Kildemand will also be racing for Belle Vue in the Premiership this year after riding for Oxford Spires in last year’s top tier.

I’m one of those riders who really likes to race a lot to build up the bike fitness so doing two leagues in England along with the Danish leagues is ideal for me.

“Returning to British racing was a good move and one that I enjoyed. It was an easy decision to return to Berwick in 2026.”
