Oxford Chargers reveal 2026 NDL team

Following the announcement that six teams will be competing in the 2026 National Development League, the Oxford management have moved quickly to confirm the septet who will set about retaining the title that they won, for the second time, in 2025.

Inspirational captain Jody Scott will return to lead the team for the second year and will see him riding in all three UK leagues in 2025 as he will take his place for Redcar in the Championship as well as being the ‘Rising Star’ for the Kings Lynn Stars in the Premiership. He will be ably supported by Oxford Cheetahs reserve Darryl Ritchings forming a powerful spearhead for the team.

Also returning in 2026 is Senna Summers, Max Broadhurst and Ashton Vale who all played a pivotal role in last year’s success.

However, with a points limit in place there would need to be some changes for 2026, as Team Manager Peter Schroeck explained
“It is really hard when you had such a great bunch of guys, however the sport is a numbers game which made changes unavoidable”

It is therefore a very warm welcome to Oxford newcomers Mason Watson and Harry Fletcher.

25 year old Watson rode for the Belle Vue Colts last season, following spells with his hometown Berwick and Edinburgh. Fletcher, at just 16 years of age, also rode for the Colts in 2025 which was his first competitive season in the sport.

“We have a great couple of new recruits joining us this year and I am confident we will be challenging for the title again” Schroeck concluded.

Season tickets remain on sale and will cover all home league fixtures for the Chargers, as well as the Cheetahs in the Championship (League, BSN Series qualifying round and Knockout Cup first round). There are also options for Stadium parking and to pay in instalments. Full details are available at oxfordspeedway.club/shop
